A native of Reno, Nevada, Pr. Erika has called Iowa home for most of her life, and graduated from Gilbert High School before going to to study Biology and Spanish at Iowa State University.
While there Pr. Erika became involved with Lutheran Campus Ministry and felt called to ministry. She studied at Wartburg Theological Seminary, graduting in 2010. She then accepted a call to serve St. John Lutheran Church in Ely, Iowa. From there she accepted a call to serve as the Director for Evangelical Mission, working with the Office of the Bishop of the Southeastern Iowa Synod, and the denominational offices. Pr. Erika began her part-time call to Seeds of Faith in June of 2024.Â
When Pr. Erika is not working for Seeds of Faith you can find her substitute teaching in the Mt. Vernon Community Schools, or spending time with her husband, Russ, and two daughters, Frankie and Charlotte.
Pr. Erika enjoys spending time and playing games with her family, gardening, hiking, reading, crafting, and getting in a good workout at the Lester Buresh Community center.
