A Statement of the Seeds of Faith Lutheran Church Council, ELCA
In response to the social unrest and cries for racial justice in our nation, Seeds of Faith, in compliance with the Southeastern Iowa Synod Council and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America: Condemn racism, white supremacy, and all acts of injustice against Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).
Seeds of Faith is committed to the love and welcome of all people. Jesus’ love was and is unconditional for the whole world and God asks us to love in this same way. Therefore, Seeds is dedicated to the long-haul process of dismantling racism and white supremacy from our lives, our communities, and our nation’s systems and institutions. As part of this commitment, we have formed an action team to specifically address this topic. If you'd like to join us, we meet the 2nd and 4th Monday evenings at 6:30pm (via zoom).
*This congregation is also LGBTQIA+ inclusive* For more specific information, please click on the page entitled "What We Believe."
The ELCA and Seeds of Faith are all inclusive. We are a safe place for you to be yourself, just as God made you, not how the world wants you to be. In our Beloved Community, everyone is welcome and encouraged to show up as their FULL self, without judgment, damnation or fear. We believe in a God of LOVE, Life, and Liberation.
